The Trending Tropicals Collection from Costa Farms offers a chance to elevate your home decor with exceptional new varieties representing some of the hottest houseplant trends on social media. Xanthosoma, one such captivating addition, is great for small spaces and tabletops, thriving in offices, kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, and even outside on a patio.
These live indoor plants add a touch of natural elegance, enhancing your home decor with their lush, vibrant leaves and unique textures. As natural air purifiers, Xanthosoma plants improve indoor air quality by removing toxins and promoting a healthier living environment. Despite their tropical aesthetic, they are surprisingly low-maintenance, requiring minimal attention while still offering a lush, verdant look - making them ideal for busy individuals.
When positioning your Xanthosoma, place it in a spot that receives bright, indirect light (5 or more hours of sunlight per day). Direct sunlight may potentially burn the plant, so indirect lighting is preferred. Water the plant when the top 2 inches of the soil are dry, approximately every 7 to 10 days, ensuring all excess water drains away. If the container does not have drainage holes, use around 1 cup of water (for a 6-inch diameter container) and adjust as needed based on your environment. Avoid letting the plant sit in water or overly soggy soil.
Upon delivery, the Xanthosoma will arrive at approximately 14 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the 6-inch diameter composite material pot to the top of the plant. This container does not have drainage holes to prevent water spillage. The plant is a moderate grower, with the exact growth rate depending on the care provided and its environment. To support its growth, give the Xanthosoma a boost during the warm months of spring and summer with a general-purpose fertilizer formulated for houseplants, following the instructions on the package.
When the plant outgrows its current container, it will be time to repot. To do so, gently remove the Xanthosoma from its existing pot and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill any empty spaces with fresh, new soil and water thoroughly.
It's important to note that Costa Farms plants, including the Xanthosoma, are not intended for human or animal consumption. Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
By supporting live plants like the Xanthosoma, you are not only enhancing your home's aesthetic but also contributing to environmental conservation and fostering a sense of eco-consciousness and well-being in your living space.
